Missing Statement Bills


We have learned from the U.S. Postal Service that statement bills are arriving at member addresses.  We believe this issue has been resolved and expect future mailings to arrive as normal.  With that being said, we would like to discuss some options you have to view, pay and manage your electric account.

ACH + E-Bill - You can go the paperless option and combine ACH and E-Bill.  ACH (Automatic Clearing House electronic payments) is when your bank automatically debits payment for your monthly bill.  You will receive a statement each month via email instead of standard mail.  With this option, the bank and AEC handles everything for you.  Not only is this a free option, but when you sign up for ACH and E-Bill, you receive a $1 credit each month.

The Mobile App - The mobile app is available for Android and iPhone.  From the app, you can view account summary, make a payment, view statement and payment history and also view your usage history.  If you use ACH and E-Bill to make your monthly payments, you can still use the app to keep track of your account and manage your consumption.  This is a free app and service provided by AEC.

Online Web Portal - If you go to aecoop.org and click on the “Quick Pay” button at the top right, you  are connected to a page to pay your bill online.  You will need to have your account number and you can pay by credit card, checking account or savings account.  This is a free service.

Automated Phone Service - If you cannot get online or just prefer to use the phone, you can pay by phone.  This is also a free service.

Have you been checking your mailbox for the arrival of your electric bill, with no luck? You’re not alone: a large number of Co-op members didn’t receive their statement bills, even though we received confirmation that they were delivered by our billing vendor to U.S. Postal Service’s Processing and Distribution Center in Knoxville. AEC is committed to working with every affected member (most whom have due dates of 12/30, 1/4, or 1/8) to resolve the issue. Now, the fact remains that bills are due on the date they’re due—whether or not they ever appear in your mailbox. So let’s look at where you can go from here: you can use our online web portal or our mobile app to make your payment. If you know your account number, you can call AEC and press option 2 to make a payment over the phone using a debit or credit card. For more information or assistance, call the Co-op and we’ll help you figure things out. We wish this hadn’t happened, but we promise to hang in there with you while it’s being addressed—and we’re also looking at options to try to keep something similar from happening in the future.
